small stone struck on my husband's eye while lawn-mowing yes'day & there is no debris as he can open & close eye normal. any reason of concern ?

Accepted Answer

No: If there is no sense of a foreign body in the eye, pain, swelling, and/or sensitivity to light(signs of a corneal abrasion) then from what you have described there are no major concerns.  If any symptoms develop follow up with an eye doctor for an evaluation.

dilated eye exam: 20/20 vision, no problems but floaters. is 30's young for floaters? why noticing them suddenly? can body reabsorb debris? worried!

Accepted Answer

See an eye doctor: New or worse floaters require an urgent dilated retinal exam to rule out serious conditions like retinal detachment. One's thirties in not necessarily too young.

i was driving with my window down and piece of debris flew into the window and hit my eye, but it doesnt look scratched and there is no redness. ?

Eye irritation: If you are feels and looks fine then don`t worry about it :)

Debris flying into your eye can cause injury and even become lodged in the conjunctiva of the periorbital area.  If you have pain, redness, irritation or tearing see a doctor in person.

my  boyfriend got hit on the inside of his eye from some debris.now he has a blood spot in his eye should we go to er?

Yes: If the debris hit the eye with such force that there are now blood spots, it is best to get it examined.

my left eye is extremely blurry.  i tried using eye drops to clear any debris, and looked to see if i can see anything. any idea this happened sometime within the last two hours.  i do wear contacts and as i was putting one in it felt abnormally painful.

Pain : Pain when inserting a contact lens and blurry vision are concerning signs.  Your symptoms suggest you may have an eye infection (corneal ulcer) for which you are at increased risk as a contact lens wearer.  Certainly there are other possibilities such as corneal inflammation, but a corneal ulcer must be excluded and, if present, treated immediately.  I recommend you call your eye doctor or proceed to the nearest er immediately for an evaluation.

Dry eyes?: The sensation of 'heavy eyes' is most commonly due to dry eyes. Other symptoms include burning sensation, fluctuating vision, and even excessive tearing.  Dry eyes can be exacerbated by computer use due to the decreased blink reflex.  You can try otc artificial tears as a trial to see if that will help.  If it does, you should see an eye md for definitive treatment.

what could cause a sunburn like feeling on the cheeks and around the eyes with of course no actual sunburn?

Photosensitivity?: If the rash is present only on sun exposed skin, and not typical sunburn, it might be a photosensitivity reaction, if you're taking any medications. A common cause is a tetracycline antibiotic, such as doxycycline, but several other drugs can do it as well. If you're taking any new drug, contact the doctor or clinic who prescribed it. Otherwise see your doctor soon for diagnosis and advice.
