Not likely: Depending on the purpose of the glasses. Not wearing it once should not cause any long term sequel. It may strain your eyes.

Possibly: It depends upon how off the prescription is.  Moderate difference from the true power can be compensated well by most eyes.  Only if the prescription is way off can you experience blur and doubling of vision.

: See an ophthalmologist, as you need evaluation for glaucoma, retinitis pigmentosa, and many other problems.  A "tint or shade" is almost certainly unlikely to help.

Depends: If you have double vision when you don't wear your glasses with prism, then you will have it with contact lenses.  If double vision is not a problem for you, then contacts will likely work.
