: It may be wiser to use a plastic face shield to prevent the "gunk" from forming on your face in the first place. And think of all the "gunk" you won't be inhaling.

Perioral dermatitis: Perioral dermatitis is a relative of rosacea. It occurs most commonly around the mouth, but can also be around the nose or eyes as well. Because it can be dry or flaky, it is often treated as eczema with topical steroids or heavy moisturizers which make it worse. It is treated with oral antibiotics and topical rosacea medications. Please see your dermatologist.

What meds r u using: Perioral dermatitis is frequently caused by usage of topical steroid preparations on the face. If u are putting any lotions or creams on your face, check that they don't contain a steroid and stop using them! see a dermatologist who can prescribe Protopic for example, which can decrease the pod without worsening it after you stop the med.
