i have high eos. counts(.7 auto abs & 7.7 auto) & was tested for allergies and parasitic infections today; both came back neg. what should i do next?

More info: Eosinophilia can be benign but it might also associate with many allergic, infectious, autoimmune or malignancy conditions. I don't understand what it means the number you listed above but if it worries you and the eosinophil count is very high, you should come and discuss with a local specialist either in allergy or hematology.

Yes: Very high ige can be associated with atopic dermatitis (allergic eczema) and also with uncommon immune deficiency called hyper ige syndrome--typically starts in children. Usually, it is associated with allergies.

Or,: Perhaps it is not your allergies per se, rather the antihistamines that can make you feel that way...

Several: Depends on how elevated it is, some high values do not mean anything. However one can have a blood disorder producing a high level of ige, parasite infections may also cause ige to be elevated. You should check with an allergist to check for a mast cell disorder as well.

Airborne allergies: High ige tends to indicate you have allergies, most commonly to airborne things like ragweed. 
Be aware that a negative food allergy test does not mean you don't have food allergies, only that you don't have ones mediated by ige (which tend to be obvious, like hives right after eating).Most food allergies are mediated by igg & can cause symptoms like headaches & joint pains hours later.See comment:.

how high up in the air should i ideally place  my hepa air purifier in my apartment? (i have allergy's)

At the nose level?: There is no study I am aware of on this issue.  The most part is the amount of air filtered per hour (4-5 exchanges ). I would only advise this for the bedroom when patients have pet allergies yet insisting on keeping a pet. Overall, I am not that impressed with HEPA filter although some people do derive benefit from it. You'd be better off consulting an allergist.

No: Allergy shots modify the immune response (potentially even permanently for some)so that the body will stop recognizing  allergens as enemies. (the new concept is that the body attacks allergens because the immune response has mistaken them as parasites). Symptoms improve when the allergic response is modulated. Do note that 20% of the people don't respond to allergy shots.

Viral infection: It may simply be a virus. Allergy symptoms mean different things to different people. Describe symptoms in more detail if you want a more specific answer.

Not Safe: Overdosing on sedative antihistamines to get high is definitely concerning and should be addressed. Taking too many of these pills can alter your cognitive and motor function and can be similar to driving drunk if he gets behind the wheel of a car.

help! my blood test allergy says i am very highly allergic to dogs! but i had a high shed dog for 4 years and nothing ever happened. must be wrong?

Breed differences: Allergy tests should be interpreted in the context of the patients symptoms.   While the blood test detects allergic (ige) antibodies, it doesn't prove that symptoms will occur.  Also, their are breed differences among dog allergic patients.  Some breeds may trigger symptoms and others may not.  An allergist can assist in interpretation of allergy tests.
