Facials: A  facial, is a procedure where a facialist presses on blackheads to remove them from your clogged pores on your face or body.  You can also remove blackheads with creams, like retin a (tretinoin) or differen. You can try to avoid black heads by avoiding sun exposure and by using only  non comedogenic moisturizers that don't create black heads. You have to decide whether a facial is worth the cost.

Irritated: You clearly irritated the skin with the trauma of popping the comedome.  It may become infected and some topical neosporin may help.  If it worsens you may need antibiotics.

Hmmm....: In such a situation, one can hope there is not a developing infection under the skin, and that the "foreign body" reaction quiets down. A blackhead is the visible end of a comedone, a clump of dead skin cells stuck inside a pore. The stuff stuck behind it leaks into the skin, when squeezed or sometimes by itself, causing the "foreign body" reaction. Warm compresses may help. If needed, see the Dr.

my six-year-old daughter has blackheads on her nose. she washes her face every day but there are four very stubborn spots where her pores are very clogged. she won't allow me to squeeze and doesn't do it herself either. what can i do?

the main things i would think about would be acne, folliculitis, cysts, or hidradenitis.  If it has been present since childhood nevus comedonicus would be possible.

Fingernails at base: Just push at the base with a fingernail on each side and push them together until it comes out. Do not push hard enough to break the skin, it isn't necessary.

Cell overgrowth: The fancy terms are follicular hyperkeratinization and epithelial hyperproliferation. This medical jargon means that the cells lining the pores are growing too quickly and producing too much keratin which covers up the pores. Otc products like salicylic acid and benzoyl peroxide can help combat this. My favorite prescription medication for blackheads is tazorac (tazarotene) gel/cream.

Quite possibly: It may cause scarring. Pore size could ^.  Wash face w gentle cleanser 2x/day & use oil free products. No oily hair or heavy foundations. Exfoliate occasionally. Try not to pop pimples. Avoid touching face (cradling chin in hands). Remove makeup before bed. Shower after strenuous exercise. Consider otc products (salicylic acid or benzoyl peroxide). If &gt; mild acne see dermatology.
