Stop snapping and..: Well, the obivious is stopping what is causing it, in your case, snapping with rubberband. Topical cortisone, calamnide, oral zyrtec/benadryl can help. You probably have dermatographia (writting on skin) in which light trauma/pressure to skin causes the hive to appear. Often, the search for the specific cause is illusive. If it bothers you, try antihistamines like zyrtec or Benadryl (diphenhydramine) (check interactions and contraindications).

Dermatographia: Some people have really sensitive skin. If you scratch your skin, you will get a raised rash on the affected skin. There is nothing to do about this, aside from taking benadryl (diphenhydramine). Try writing words on your skin with your fingernails. If it works, you have sealed the diagnosis. Hope this helps!
