Something else?: And your age 27 facet disease is not a likely diagnosis. You need to be reevaluated, and if necessary have injections in the back in the facet joints, but I would look for other causes.

A calorie is a calorie, but surely avoid sugar & simple starch calories.

Diet and exercise: It is difficult to control your weight while on prednisone, so the best thing to do will be diet and exercise and if possible be on the lowest Prednisone dose that will control your symptoms.
