Pristiq: I Don't know what your dose of Pristiq is.  Also don't know your diagnosis.  You may or may not be on an optimal. With each dosage increase it may take up to 4 to 6 weeks to get that full benefit.

Talk to your doctor : In general it is best to discuss medication changes with your doctor. Some patients experience withdrawal when stopping Cymbalta (duloxetine). These symptoms are flu-like. It is best to take it slow and taper the dose down over the course of a month. A few people require longer than a month. If another antidepressant is introduced, then the time required for weaning may be reduced. Talk to your doctor.

: It is better to taper the dose than stop it abruptly although you are on a low dose. You can reduce the dose to one every other day for 6 days then one every third day for 6 days then stop. Take care.

Flu like symptoms: 30 mg is not a big dose to get off of but  a lot of factors effect the discontinuation symptoms. 1 is how long you are on it. 2.5 months  is long enough to have symptoms. Why you were on it, are you switching to something else and what. You will know in a few days of stopping it how you will do.Some of the symptoms can be a flu like syndrome, feelings of electric shock, anxiety and mood changes.

2 weeks: this may settle down within the next two weeks. The trick now is to eat lots of bulk-eg salads and drink the famous 8 glasses of water/day while waiting to see if it calms down

Taper: Longer taper, under quide of Psychiatrist. Some changes in how you feel are normal in that situation however. Some antidepressants have a withdrawal effect similar to that of addictive drugs in my opinion.

Not a good plan: Cymbalta (duloxetine) and valerian root can both be toxic to your liver, so combining them would not be a good idea.  Also some sources indicate potential cytochrome interactions between these 2, so that there may be changes in how your body clears these substances when used together.  If tapering your Cymbalta (duloxetine) and having difficulty, please speak with your doctor.

after i switch to prozac after a week of transition from cymbalta (duloxetine) would i be able to wean off prozac without issues or keep take for a month then wean?

Wean it for a month.: Prozac has a long half life and it is an ssri  where Cymbalta (duloxetine) is an snri. Depending on how long and what the dose of Prozac that you have been taking, it might be wise to gradually taper the dose for a month before you stop it . Meanwhile, you can start the Cymbalta (duloxetine) at a lower dose and titrate it gradually as the dose of Prozac decreases.
