40 yr female. total thyroidectomy in 2015 for graves disease and hashimoto's. 
recently my blood work indicated a thyroid peroxidase antibodies level of 11.  ths still at .01 all other thyroid levels in normal range.   wbc down to 3.4?

: I hope you're cared for by a thyroidologist or endocrinologist.  You had a very rare combination of both Graves disease which causes hyperthyroidism and Hashimoto's disease which causes hypothyroidism. Your TSH is abnormally low indicating high thyroid activity??from thyroid supplement. Both of your thyroid disorders are autoimmune disorders. A lowish wbc can be from an autoimmune process

Here is the key: Eveb the absolute count need not be "in range" to relax. If neither the absolute neutrophil count or the absolute lymphocyte count is far from reference range and no abnormal cells are present, then just be glad for things being okay.

in march 2018 my wbc waz 6000 and recently on oct 8th 2019 it decreased to 4900. its in normal range. but should i get worried for decreased no. of wbc?

Lab results are...: Lab results are just numbers. The doctor who ordered the tests can explain the results better, because those same numbers can mean different things in different people. Results that are anywhere in the REFERENCE RANGE (it's not actually a NORMAL RANGE) in a normal person with no symptoms, are generally ok. That would be like the weather, partly cloudy yesterday, sunny today, but both normal.

Depends: This depends on the exact machine specifications, but usually the nomal range is somewhere around 3-10.

Need more info: Reference ranges are set so that several percent of healthy folks fall outside. A lowish WBC is a concern if and only if neutrophils or lymphocytes are very much below the bottom of the reference range. If this is the case, your physician will already have advised you. Otherwise, don't worry. You're a person, not a bunch of numbers.

: Not generally. We generally never look at any isolated lab test as worthy of comment. The patients history or at least the reason for the test are  important to any interpretation. That said. I would not worry about this.

Not necessarily: Low white blood cell counts occur for a variety of reasons. You could have used some up fighting an infection. There are dozens of other causes. There are however a few serious causes, so continuing to see your hematologist and follow up testing are very important. Hope this helps!

Find the cause: If the absolute neutrophil / granulocute count or the absolute lymphocyte count is way-low, your physician knows how to work it up or will refer you
