Depends: Swedish massage promotes relaxation and awareness of your body areas of tightness and pain.   It is softer than other types of massage.  It may be repeated whenever you cannot maintain flexible and comfortable physical function.  Many people would enjoy massage more often than their budgets allow. , others use it as a entry point to a vacation.  I suggest 4 x per year for an active person.

Probably okay: As I see no specific condition or health concern,  going to a sauna and getting a massage on the same day is fine. I would just be sure to hydrate well.

Burn: Excessive friction during massage can cause 1st degree burn. That should resolve promptly in few days.

Clinic - ER if bad!: This might be hives and if it spreads to the respiratory system it is really dangerous. Get friend to a clinic - a Benadryl (diphenhydramine) shot can keep it from spreading or be lifesaving. It could be related to the massage or allergy to one of the materials there. There is allergy mentioned so this is a good bet. Ask to have epi-pins available for emergencies. Good luck!

Unhappy ending?: Best answer I can come up with is that somehow your upper cervical spine was extended and pressure is put on the greater and lesser occipital nerves.  Which innervate the lower occiput and mid occiput (back of the head).  Try to keep your head in a neutral position or move it from side to side and dance cheek to cheek with the massage table.

Maybe muscular pain: This may be muscular pain. With your description that it occurs after the massage, this will be my first thought this is two weeks later now and are you still having the same pain at this point you may want to try heat, and depending on the rest of your clinical issues perhaps an NASID. Since this is a major issue I would discuss it with your physician
