Not much.: Bee venom is a weak acid - about as acid as normal urine (ph around 5.)  it damages human tissue by acting as an enzyme that dissolves cell walls.

Use EpiPEN, (epinephrine) go to ER: You may have no problem with this, but if you have an allergy or you think you do, my advice is to get to an er asap.  They will give you Epinephrine so you don't go into anaphylactic shock, which can close your airway and kill you.  After this episode is over, you might want to see your doctor and get an epipen, (epinephrine) which is a shot of Epinephrine you can give yourself quick if this happens again.

See below: This is variable and greatly depends on whether the child has an allergy to the wasp venom.  If the child shows any symptoms other than a local redness, swelling and pain at the site of the sting, such as facial, lip, eyelid, tongue swelling, respiratory distress,  vomiting, diarrhea, etc. - get seen asap for potential severe reaction.

It is alright to : Worry. However, if you are not allergic - it is most likely that your reaction will consist of pain, swelling and redness at the site. For generalized reaction please obtain prompt medical help. Seek medical care for milder allergic reactions: swelling of &gt; 4 inches, nausea, GI cramps, diarrhea.

Yes: Being stung is painful.  Some insects hurt more than others.  

The last time i was stung by a yellow jacket it hurt for about 3 days.

If you are not allergic to the insect sting you should not have any physical distress or have any lasting problems.

Benedryl/ baking sod: Clean area with soap ; warm water.  Apply ice (bag of frozen peas) in 10 min. Increments; alternating 10 on ; 10 off.   You can take meds like tylenol, (acetaminophen) Aspirin or Motrin for pain or Benadryl for swelling.  Make a paste of 2 parts baking soda ; 1 part water ; apply.  Need tetanus shot every 10 years.

Logical question: However that's not a routine or practical to test eveyone, may be people who ate at risk who work in areas where wasps/bees pose a threat, even though testing if positive wouldn't predict what happens on true exposure, as you still won't develop a reaction, and reactions differ in severity in different people or different ages. Better to have an epinephrine auto-injector &amp; antihistamine handy

Wasp sting: If you are allergic to a wasp sting and you have an anaphylactic reaction to the sting you could die   that is why they have the bee sting epi pens that people can carry if they are allergic   it is very rare to die from a wasp sting, however.
