i have recently found that i may have plantar warts. i have had these for months now but assumed it was a callus. is there any way to rid myself of it?

Duct tape: There is actually good experience with covering the lesions with a strip of duct tape.  Leave it on until is either gets messy or falls off, and then reapply another piece.  This might take 6 weeks or so but you can gauge the effect at each change.  Hopefully this will do the trick for you.

i used a pumice stone on a verruca (thought it was just a callus then); is it ok to keep using the samestone, or will doing so maybe spread more warts?

Wart Treatments: Yes. It can spread. Here are some otc treatments.
1. Salicylic acid. This is most effective against plantar warts (warts on the soles of the feet). One should use the strongest (highest %) of salicylic acid possible.
2. Cryosurgery. There are now home treatment freezing units and should be used with extreme care.
3. Duct tape. No better than placebo, but works for 20%

Unclear question: Apparently the wart healed. Give the resulting tissue time to remodel.
Wish you good health! - Have a diet rich in fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains, milk and milk products, nuts, beans, legumes, lentils and small amounts of lean meats. Avoid saturated fats. Drink enough water daily, so that your urine is mostly colorless. Exercise at least 150 minutes/week and increase the intensity of exercise gradually. Do not use tobacco, alcohol, weed or street drugs in any form. 
Practice safe sex, if you have sex.

Quite broad question: All the conditions you are asking about can be examined by a podiatrist.  The cause of each and the appropriate treatment is not the same for all.  Warts are viruses resulting in a skin lesion.  Calluses/corns are your skin's way of protecting itself from pressure.  Blisters are breaks/peels in the skin resulting from friction but can be the result of internal injury/inflammation.  Get checked.

A callous: Is dead skin, a wart is a virus. A wart can often look like a callous. A callous could turn into a wart just like skin can....

Lesions: A wart is caused by a virus. A corn or callus is usually caused  by pressure from an outside source claisingthe skin to become thick.

Accepted Answer

Not effective.: Warts are caused by a virus that lives in the deeper part of the skin. Corns and calluses are a reaction of the skin to mechanical irritation, whether a pinpoint compression over a bony prominence for a corn, or excessive friction for a callus. Therefore the sal acid may burn the skin where a callus is, but the effect is temporary at best.

Need to examine: A non-healing ulcer is a cause for concern. It may be a venous stasis ulcer, seborrhic keratosis, or less likely a skin carcinoma. It would be prudent to see a doctor and if need be, have it excised and tissue examined by a pathologist.

Contact Your PCP: Many primary care physicians, fp, ped internal medicine have experience with treating a wide variety of issues including foot warts.Cryosurgery devices (cold application) that use nitrous oxide have been approved for treating warts on the bottom of the foot as well as on other body surfaces. If this is not available at your pcp s/he can send you elsewhere if needed.
