you say he is recovering  and left side is weak which is not unusual after stroke
he may benefit from physical therapy, discuss with his doctor.
I am sorry we can not advice more than that we do not know the details about his other coexisting conditions. Needs to control hi bp, cholestero, sugar if he has diabetes&take meds for secondary preve.

Duration of Stroke: It seems to be a very small stroke, but there can be temporary swelling of brain, of which you say the pressure was released. Usually it takes about 6-12 month to regain, function, after which the problem is more or less permanent. Stroke rehab does wonderful and almost miraculous results. I strongly emphasize stroke rehab.

12/30/21 i had a left brain stroke with brain bleed. it was arterial in source. healing slowly. having daily headaches. how long will headaches last? is this normal?

: If the hemorrhage occurred within the brain substance, headache usually resolve after days. Persistent headaches after a week or so could be tension type. If the hemorrhage was subarachnoid, such as occurs in a berry aneurysm, eventual chronic intracranial hypertension can occur as a complication &amp; can cause chronic headache. Have you had a follow-up ct scan or MRI to investigate these headaches?

Who says?: I have never heard anyone say this, and this is absolutely not true.  Would also suggest avoiding opium, and focus on standard health approaches to prevent stroke.  Talk to your family doctor and clarify what you need to do to keep yourself healthy.

No relationship: Masturbation does NOT cause strokes.  But there are indeed many reasons for strokes to occur, and you not only need to uncover cause, but also be preventatively treated to avoid another, even though it has been 6 yrs.

Systemic illness: Sorry for your stroke, but the use of blood thinners only decreases your risk but cannot eliminate it. Most of the time this is used for atrial,fibrillation in case small,clots leave the hear and stop,in the brain. But thinning the blood also can cause small brain bleeds that also are a stroke. You need a discussion with your neurologist to determine your risk for more strokes and his to prevent.
