i have a serious toothache and currently taking warfarin and epilim to thin my blood. i would like to use some boiled aloe water to rinse my mouth with. can i continue?

Toothache: My suggestion is that you see a dentist ASAP. A serious toothache usually will not resolve on its own. Boiled aloe water will most likely have absolutely no effect on your problem. Problems with teeth have to actually be treated by a dentist, there is no medication that will cure an abscessed or decayed tooth.

my inr was an 8.7 on thursday and i haven't taken an coumadin (warfarin). today my son bumped his head on mine really hard. should i be worried?

Possibly: If you have no symptoms that is a good sign. However, an inr of 8.7 is markedly elevated. With combination of an inr that high and trauma it is best to be evaluated asap.

Can't say for sure: There could be a variety of reasons. It needs to clear that  your  headaches are  not due to bleeding in the brain area.Usually after  stopping warfarin  the protime recovers. There can occasionally be coagulation issues  that need  to be clarified  and why you got the warfarin initially.

Yes.: Because you take Coumadin (warfarin) and have bruise, most importantly we want to make sure there is no internal/Intracranial /Subdural bleeding. This may suddenly get worse.

but if he headache persists or is severe based on the fact that he is on coumadin i would contact his doctor to determine if evaluation as to bleeding is warranted

Injury by itself: with all other things being stable, should not affect your INR.  If you change your diet or take new medication to treat eht injury, this might affect the INR&gt;
