See Your Doctor: First see your doctor to make sure the diagnosis is correct.  If it is vitiligo, there may be nothing to do at this point, but have a two toned penis.

i am sure you hate it in medicine when the doctor hems and haws.  But, i think in this case it would be difficult to predict.  I think one would be remiss if we did not acknowledge that vitiligo can change and 'spread'.  But, it does not have to happen. It sounds like you are under good care and using a product to help.

But, if you feel you need another opinion then there good skin docs....

Vitiligo: Ultraviolet phototherapy is considered safe but there is a significant risk of sunburn. Skin cancer risk also increases but risk is low.

i am 24 year old. i have a vitiligo on my penis. doctor prescribed melanocyl tablet and cream .is this ok .? how could i take this both ?

Hmm...need more info: Melanocyl is a powerful photosensitizer and is generally taken or applied before receiving light therapy.  Usually either the cream or the tablet is used--the cream if localized area, the tablet if larger areas will be treated.  You should talk with your doctor to clarify his or her instructions on this as using it incorrectly can cause serious burns and other issues.

Vitiligo or BXO: Vitiligo of penis, per se, is more of a cosmetic condition, however BXO (Balanitis Xeriotica Obliterans) is a degenerative skin condition than forms on th foreskin &amp;/or on glans penis around the urethral meatus. Thi can cause progressive narrowing &amp; narrowing of the urinary opening &amp; may require an excision biopsy to take of the problem. Consult a urologist

Not easy: Vitiligo is considered an autoimmune disorder and may be difficult to stop.  Phototherapy (UVB-NB) may be effective for some people .

No: We don't fully understand the pathophysiology of vitiligo.  It is considered an autoimmune disorder, and sometimes associated with systemic autoimmune conditions. Treatment that are modestly successful all relate to suppressing the immune system in the skin, such as cortisone creams, steroid-sparing immunomodulators and uv therapy.  Some people undergo punch grafts, but with modest success.
