It depends...: Work for what? If someone has B12 deficiency then B12 shots definitely "work" to treat the deficiency and resultant anemia/neurological symptoms. However, many who are not deficient get B12 shots for fatigue and other non-specific symptoms. Sub lingual?: A year supply of B12 liquid (remember to hold it under the tongue for 30 seconds) costs about 8-12 dollars. Usually an eye dropper full is taken twice a month to achieve a serum blood level of greater than 350. B12 pills that are swollwed usually don't work if you truely have a problem with taking in B12 absorbtion in the terminal illium (last 5-6 inches of your small intestine).

Check your level.: You want to keep your B12 level in the blood above 350.  You would first check a level. If it low you can try to fix the problem with mega doses of B12 by mouth or 1.2 mg sublingually (by-pass the malfunctioning GI tract).

No changes: You have high, but not abnormally or dangerously high levels. I wouldn't change anything.  That being said, if you are taking B12 supplements without the care of a doctor, i would consider cutting back on them.

Nothing typical: B12 is but one of many vitamins and the symptoms overlap each other. B12 deficiency produces fairly typical changes in the blood. Because all of them are vital to energy metabolism the commonest symptom is fatigue but only a physician can make the diagnosis.

Sometimes: If you have pernicious anemia, b-12 injections can reverse much of the nerve issues.  If you have diabetic neuropathy, a medical food, metanx which contains b-12, folate, (folic acid) and b-6 in biologically active form can help regrow small nerve fibres.  But otherwise, not sure supplements are going to make much difference.
