Steam Room: Steam Room can cause changes in the tear film and minor changes in the lens of the eye. Be sure to check your blood sugar to be sure no other issues going on like diabetes which can also cause lens to change shape &amp; cause variations in vision.

Contact lenses: You may have a tendency for a dry as the day progresses and you are forming secretions that coat and cloud the contact lens.  Also corneal edema can make your vision cloudy.  An exam can differentiate the problem.

Yes.: If you switch contact lenses from one company to another, even if they are the same power, there can be some difference in vision due to the lens make up. Generally, the difference should be very small. If the difference is great, the powers need to be checked for correctness. If you switch contact lenses between eyes, your vision will definitely be cloudy unless both eyes have the same power.

Corneal edema: Likely this is due to some mild corneal edema but perhaps due to chemical irritation &/or dryness.  Usually symptoms improve overnight.  Artificial tears may help some as well.

When blood sugar runs high it acts as a solute and draws water into the lens creating a hydrops or blurred vision. If fairly recent in nature this effect can be reversed several times. However,  if the diabetes is kept uncontrolled the hydrops and other protein degeneration in the lens leads to permanent cataract.

Second - the eyes after a long day are tired and could be dry or irritated. For this try blinking more often or some lubricating eye drops like systane ultra or drops called blink.

Dry eye, ocular allergy, and eyelid related problems are other minor problems that can cause this. More serious conditions like cataract (rare at your age), glaucoma, retinal conditions, and optic nerve conditions are unlikely. Only an eye examination can determine the cause.
