Yes: Opiate-induced constipation is often better managed initially with a stool softener like colace (docusate sodium) or surfak, holding laxatives like senna for a second if twice daily stool softeners aren't effective. Antibiotics may produce diarrhea, so you need to be careful that you not use too much laxative, since the results may be (literally) explosive.

i got a root canal done, and my face was swollen 2 days after, taking antibiotics and vicodin, its now been 5 days and still have swelling. help?

See a Dentist Again: The aim of root canal therapy is to eliminate an infection within (sometimes around) a tooth. This usually works quite quickly and well. However, if the infection doesn't clear-up, especially with the support of antibiotics, you must go back to the dentist. Perhaps an additional antibiotic is needed. Maybe more treatment has to be done. Facial infections are serious and dangerous. Go back again.

Neither: usually causes yellow stools.  The colace (docusate sodium) is to keep your stools soft after surgery and while taking the Vicodin which is constipating.

Be patient: Your endodontist is probably right in suggesting patience as it is nearing time, more than a week, to start seeing improvement in pain and swelling with the medications you are on. I would say wait until Monday for a reassessment by your endodontist for any complication.

You need a dentist to determine what the problem is and treat the cause. An antibiotic won't be enough without finding the source. Infections can spread, they put pressure on tissues and can cause intense ear and tissue pain.  Consult a dentist asap.

Ambusol: There are local anesthetics that can be applied to the gums that will relieve the pain. The same medicine that teething babies use.  But call the dentist and tell them you are in pain and you need a appt asap.

i have a sinus infection and on an antibiotic and norco (hydrocodone and acetaminophen) for pain. i threw up undigested food hours after i ate or took meds. is this normal?

It is not normal: Nausea, vomiting, constipation and dizziness are only a few side effects of norco (hydrocodone and acetaminophen).  
Nsaid (ex. Ibuprofen) otc, relieve pain and inflammation. They are widely used for sinus infection.
Rec.: ask your doctor about using these meds.

It depends: Your question is somewhat vague. All medications when appropriately prescribed for its indication and taken as directed by a physician should not be a problem. Vicodin is hydrocodone and Acetaminophen and is indicated for moderate to severe pain. The issue is the misuse/abuse  of the medication. It has the potential for physical dependence, cause respiratory depression when taken in excess & death.
