4 hours minmum: First check to see if medication is long acting. If so, wait 6-8 hours if possible. Minimal time between different meds with same ingredient should be 4 hours. Do not exceed total of 3, 000mgs acetominophen per day.

Caution: Pseudoephedrine in Dayquil and amphetamine in Adderall (dextroamphetamine and racemic amphetamine) can increase blood pressure and heart rate. Talk to your doctor before taking Dayquil while you're on Adderall (dextroamphetamine and racemic amphetamine).

No basis for concern: Nothing in dayquil would be part of a standard urine drug screen.  There is also nothing in dayquil that is of concern if it were detected. Decongestant phenylephrine has replaced pseudoephedrine, which was sometimes abused or used to make other abusable drugs. Nothing in dayquil to worry about now.

i took two dayquil today at 5:30pm. can i take my xanax tomorrow around noon? will the dayquil be out of my system by tomorrow at noon? or will i have to worry about the two drugs interacting?

: It should not be a problem to take your Xanax the following day. There should be very little risk associated with that scenario. Good luck.

Serious: Acetaminophen (apap, tylenol) overdose can kill the liver, and kill the overdoser.  It is one of the most commonly overdosed over-the-counter medications, partly due to misconception that if it is over-the-counter then it cannot be all that harmful.  It is safe within listed limits.  Pseudoephedrine overdose can speed up the heart to dangerous levels or raise blood pressure to dangerous levels.

Yes: You can safely use a non-drowsy cold medication with nucynta (tapentadol).  Use caution thought if using a cold medicine that causes drowsiness
