why am i so gassy in the morning? i end up having pains and a bowel movement also. what causes this?

Diet; virus; toxins: There are a number of factors that can work independently or in concert to disrupt your GI tract. Changes in diet,especially high fat or high fiber foods, contribute. If you are exposed to a gastrointestinal virus the symptoms may range from mild to severe with persistent diarrhea and pain.Consider food toxins or bacteria from spoiled or contaminated food. Being gassy.: Being gassy in a sudden sense, meaning starting suddenly and ending suddenly, would usually be related to something you ate recently.  Maybe something with a high fiber content to which you’re not accustomed.  If it’s stopped by now, great.  If not, or if any other symptoms have developed (nausea, vomiting, diarrhea), see a doctor.

Constipation: Stress can cause gas, bloating and constipation. Make sure you eat a fiber rich diet with plenty of fluids.

Bowel mobility: Contractions after a bowel movement will occur moving bowel contents along after a movement . This may feel like bloating and new gas will be passed as it progresses down into the colon.

: Ongoing or a 1  episode?  May be a form of gastroenteritis (infection) but check your diet . Beans , cabbage family ( broccoli, cauliflower, cabbage) tend to cause gas.  If it is ongoing  may also have food intolerances like to lactose or gluten or soy.  f/u/ w/ GI or allergist.

it's been 16 days since i have had a substantial bowel movement.  it's been 6 days since i have passed anything.  however, i am still passing gas. er?

It depends...: Glad that you are passing gas. Some people are constipated for days on end.  If you are having and abdominal pain, nausea, or vomiting this could be a sign of ileus or obstruction.  Is there any change in appetite weight loss? How often do you normally go? Tough to say if this is simply a situation that can be helped with increasing fiber or adding a laxative.

felt gassy and mildly constipated for two weeks. took a dose of miralax once and had a very good bowel movement. cleaned out. should i keep taking it? feel totally fine now. how does it work so well?!

Depends: Constipation/gas is normally due to changes in diet. If you lack fiber, vegetables, exercise and 8 glasses of water a day you are more prone to constipation. You could be hypothyroid but that is unusual cause for constipation.
Most pharmacies carry different drugs to treat constipation which you can pick out yourself. No particular reason Miralax worked so well.

i feel a  very slight soreness when i press on my lower intestines...bowel movement seems good and i feel fine, no other symptoms except feeling extra gassy, is this dangerous? what can i do at home to remedy this?

Gas: To reduce intestinal gas formation, in addition to reducing ingestion of gassy foods and beverages, try taking simethicone 1/2 hour after eating a meal. To break down existing gas in the intestinal tract and help pass it down into the rectum,  drink hot(not boiling) water. Apply heat to the abdomen if very uncomfortable.  I agree that your symptoms aren't worrisome.

Hydration & Exercise: There are many reasons for relative constipation. Have your md review your current medications for constipation as side effect. Fiber (with enough water) very helpful, and you need to titrate up to full doses or you will get gassy. A healthy, fiber filled diet always good, and don't forget to drink more water. Regular exercise also excellent for getting those bowels moving.
