i've been on prozac (fluoxetine) for 8 weeks.  i had a bad headache that ended after a couple days.  the past 3 weeks i've had a sinus headache. could it be prozac (fluoxetine)?

Yes, or it could be: a separate condition(s).   An EENT MD can quickly figure out if you have sinus conditions and if they caused your headaches.   If so, treat that first.   But, SSRI's are known to cause lots of side effects, including the ones you have.   If nothing else pans, go to your prescribing MD (for the Prozac) and ask if another med might do.   Don't necessarily stop on your own first, unless too uncomfort

Treatment: Steam, antibiotic, advil (ibuprofen) sinus, saline sinus irrigation are the usual first line treatment. See ENT if the condition is recurrent or chronic.

Headache: The sx of headache and nose bleeds probably sinus infection. I am concerned may also be high blood pressure. At the very least see  physician get antibiotics but definitely get BP check.

Water, water, water: You might want to try drinking a lot of water so your body is well hydrated. The theory is that mucous will be made thinner, and may have a better chance of clearing out. The 2nd use of water would be a hot shower or 'steam treatment' - take your time soaking up the steam, it should help open up the sinus passages and thereby relieve the headache. 3rd, a wet hot facecloth  over the headache areas.

i get really bad sinus headache. forehead, and behind eyes the most. i took a zyrtec will that help? head is hurting bad. can feel the sinuses aching. whats the best to take care of this at home?

See doctor : Sinusitis is often triggered by a viral infection or allergy - less often by a bacterial infection. Zyrtec may help some but you may also need steroid and decongestant nasal sprays - maybe an antibiotic

4-6 hrs: 100mg of tramadol shot will last 4-6 hrs. However 90% of recurring "sinus headache" are migraine. Discuss this with your primary.

ENT doctor: If the pain is refractory to the sinus medications which are designed to decrease the inflammation in the sinuses and thus the pressure, you may want to consult with an ENT doctor. Sometimes patients may need some "extra help" in clearing the sinuses and the ENT doctors may help by surgically removing collections. Also an MRI or ct scan may be done to make sure there isn't some other cause.
