Achilles : You want to have the tendon examined for rupture. There are three comon areas the tendon can tear and the most commom site is about 5 cm up from the heel bone. Stay off the area and ice 15 min on 15 min off till you can get seen....

Ligate the vein: A superficial  vein can easily either be avoided of ligated (tied off).

Saphenous vein: no. Veins should not feel "hard". They should feel spongy or soft.  It may be a phlebitis or clotting of that vein. Ibuprofen 3 times a day or alleve 2 x a day as an anti inflammatory helps along with a warm compress dressing can reduce that feeling in the vein. Go see your PCP.

No: Anatomically, there are no lymph nodes in that area.

If there is a : Problem with the artery being occluded I would imagine you would have some sort of pain. Conclusions in arteries are not good. A occlusion in an artery would not cause your vein to bulge if anything if the occlusion was a clot the artery itself might be a little thicker.

i have pain inside the ankle especially when rising up on the toes. achilles tendon also swollen and joint  i am 51 and run regularly. is this serious?

No a big oroblem: But any way go to see a podiatry .Must  like you suffer a tendinitis.

at 1st glance, it luks like achilles tendonitis(r) i have a lump on my achilles tendon 4 (6 wks) the pain is worsening, walking, climbing stairs, and standing still. 2day fut doc said couldn't help my extreme pain, waiting 4 mri, he says its a vein.

Tendon tear.: The MRI will help with isolating the problem, but in the meantime, it might be prudent to avoid using the foot in the same manner you are accustomed to. A lump on the Achilles tendon for six weeks could spell trouble. Until proven otherwise try immobilizing the ankle to prevent further problems.

Stretch: That would indicate doing less so as not to injure the area and getting it evaluated.

You could: Achilles tendon rupture can result from an injury, and the degree of pain and disability depends on how extensive the tear is.  Sometimes there is a palpable knot in the back or above the back of the heel, and bearing weight there is quite painful and/or difficult.  See a doctor as soon as possible for a proper evaluation.
