Dextromethorphan: If your cough syrup has dextromethorphan, i would not take it with paxil (paroxetine).  This can be a bad mix.

Normal: It's normal for women to have some discharge.  If it is abnormal it should be evaluated.

Well, they are both : Good options.  I prefer laparoscopic because that's how i was trained and it's not as difficult on the back, especially if removing ovaries.  Your uterus may be prolapsing but let the doc do it how they feel most comfortable.  If option is open and doc feels comfortable doing vag hyst, go that route, it costs less, faster, no holes in tummy. If multiple other surgeries consider lap assist. Gd luc.

May need lubrication: Sorry to hear of your trouble. Intimate relation is a very important part of life and anything making it a problem could lead to trouble in the long run. I am not sure what exactly is causing your trouble, but the labia maybe too large/redundant and penile penetration ins/outs can cause excessive in-out folding which can irritate your skin, especially if he is large. Adding lubrication may help.

External vag opening: The hymen is a membrane that surrounds or partially covers the external vaginal opening. It forms part of the vulva, or external genitalia, and is similar in structure to the vagina.

Outside vs inside: The vulva consists of the labia( big and small) and the external genitalia. The vagina is inside the vulva(inside the body) where the cervix can be found.

Not unusual: In the days following delivery, the discharge, often called 'lochial discharge' does seem to have an odor.  This is to some extent related to the ongoing healing of the uterine wall related to the where the placenta attached and old blood.  Regardless, given that you are noticing a foul odor, you must talk with your ob/gyn now about this!

Do nothing: If you have something wrong in that area, it will hurt or bleed or itch or smell, etc. The 'skin' you see is what is called the hymenal ring. It usually looks like torn tissue, especially if you have had sex.  It is normal. Google it:-)

Common: Genital warts are very common and are caused by HPV.  Most people will come in contact with some form of HPV in their lives (not always with the strain that causes warts, however). Removing might be permanent for you, or they can come back. He can't 'give' HPV back to you, as once you come in contact your body doesn't get re-infected with same strain.  Different strain, yes, but not same one.
