It can be. : Recovery from the inflammation caused during a vasectomy can last a while. Recovery time could increase if there was any bleeding or hematoma formation.  This usually resolves with time. You should watch out for increasing pain, swelling, redness, fever, or heat, which could signify an infection and should be evaluated and treated. Communicate with your urologist & follow symptoms closely.

: No I would not expect any difficulty or damage to the vasectomy.  I would expect that you are due for a sperm count.  Consult with the person that did the vasectomy.

Home pregnancy tests are very accurate.: They are the same tests used in a doctors office. They can detect a pregnancy 7-10 days after conception. The best time to take one is when you miss your period.  if you doubt the result you can repeat it in 1-2 days. If you were pregnant the hormone level would rise enough for detection.

Vasectomy ?'s: Pain from a vasectomy should be transient, but if you were catheterized duing the vasectomy, bacteria could be introduced into the bladder. See your surgeon who did the vasectomy for an exam and urine testing.

Hence, the pain one week after vasectomy should be just watched as long as slowly but surely getting better day by day; time and patience are best for such. If not, suspect infection; if prolonged more than 1-2 months, consider delayed post-vasextomy pain which requires special care with timely surgery at times.

Scrotal pain: Is it at site of surgery? It is not uncommon to have pain after surgery. If it does not go away in a week then it should be examined.

May be, but...: Refraining from intercourse for 2-3 weeks after surgery or until postoperative pain is tolerable, has been the common advice, but its realistic value has been not well defined and validated. As well, the duration of no sex after vas-reversal highly varies among urologists, largely to serve social / medico-legal / political correctness. But 2-3 weeks is reasonable or until pain be tolerable.
