although i am taking anti fungal tablets my vaginal itching is not totally alright. in the course of 1o days its been 5 days and it still itches me.

Which tablets?: Pills for fungus---terbinafine-----are not effective for yeast. Usual yeast pill, fluconazole, is a single dose, sometimes repeated in a week. Yeast is certainly not the only cause of vaginal itch. Fungus is usually not that itchy. So see a GYN or dermatologist. You need to provide precise information about symptoms and about all pills or treatments.

other common cause is bacterial infection
take metronidazole cream for 5 days to get rid of it

Itching: Dehydration would not usually be a cause.  This sounds more like it could be an infection. You should see your doctor for an evaluation.

See GYN: Many potential causes including contact allergy to vaginal cream , latex , or even semen.  Yeast infection may occasionally cause itching as well. Need to get examined by a GYN&gt;

: Probably not. The main cause of vaginal itching is yeast infection, which is not sexually acquired. However, mentioning STD/STI suggests you’re concerned about that possibility, so you should be tested. The same exam can also check out possible yeast or other explanations for your symtpoms. You could try one of the OTC “azole” treatments for yeast, but even if that helps, you should test for STI.

See a derm: Since you saw your gyn and cultures were all negative, i would advise you see a dermatologist next. Even though it is vulvar skin, it is still skin. If a biopsy is needed, he/she can perform that as well. You need some type of topical treatment to alleviate the itch, as well as the underlying problem.

Vaginal itch: It could be something as simple as a new soap, detergent or fabric softener or feminine hygiene product.   If no discharge - i would see if there is any new products you are using - anything that may have come in contact down there could cause itching.   If its external - Benadryl (diphenhydramine) cream might help - if internal - a simple vinegar and water douche might help.

i have the paragurd iud and i was just wondering if it can cause vaginal itching? i have no other symptoms.

No: The Paraguard does not cause itching. You should get checked to see if there is an infection.
