what does early pregnancy vaginal discharge look like? after my period (i had protected sex on the 1st day of my period when it seemed light) i immediately noticed large amounts of egg white mucus but this lasted for over 2 weeks.should i be worried?

Cannot tell from d/c: One cannot tell from her discharge. It can be hard to guess if a woman is pregnant because some of the symptoms seen in early pregnancy can also happen in non-pregnant women. A urine pregnancy test gives a very reliable result by 3 weeks after sex (3 weeks after when conception might have occurred), or 1 week after missing a period, or after having a "weird" period.

No: The vaginal discharge a normal woman has varies with the point in her menstrual cycle she is. It can vary from white to clear, sticky to watery, and little amount to a large amount. If your period is late, then you should take a pregnancy test.

Vaginal discharge: When pregnant, vaginal discharge is thin, white ; milky. But because this is not a diagnostic symptom, a pregnancy test should be taken if you miss your period. Clear, watery discharge is normal ; occurs intermittently during the menstrual cycle . It may ^ after exercise.

Vaginal discharge: A white vaginal discharge does not indicate a pregnancy or an oncoming period.  Most likely in the second half of the month, the occurence of yeast overgrowth vaginally is the probable cause of the discharge.

Most likely yes: Clear thick mucus-like discharge is typical of ovulatory mucous.  People often describe it as looking like egg white.  That said, if your discharge has a funny odor, you have any itching or pain, or you could have been exposed to a sexually transmitted infection, then you should get checked out.

Possibilities: This type of discharge may be caused by infection, ovulation, pregnancy (depending on stage), rarely cancer.

Not usually: Abnormal vaginal discharges always require a GYN MD visit, as the causes are usually not stress.

Can be: A small amount of mucus is normal. If there is a large or regular mount it could be a bacterial infection, fissure, bowel obstruction, or Chron's disease.  IF there is regular mucus seeing your PCP would be a good idea.

Discharge: A vaginal discharge in all likelihood would NOT be caused by simply having the act of sex reproduced while fully clothed.  If rough, there maybe an abrasion causing the inflammation, but the discharge would be most likely of another origin.  Best to see your GYN Doctor and get an evaluation.  Best wishes.
