See an ENT: If this question has not been answered, it has been on line for at least three weeks.  So I would like to address your problem.  A swollen uvula should have resolved within 1 to 2 weeks if  viral infection.  You do not mention pain.  Therefore, you may simply have an enlarged uvula.  The main problem with that is snoring and or a sleep disorder.  See  ENT doctor for diagnosis and treatment.

Tonsillectomy: This is normal after the surgery. The swelling is going to start going down after 12 hours and between 24 and 36 hours should resolve drink room temperature water avoid hot or hard food for the next couple of days,

Uvula edema: Hello, the swelling of the uvula will take some time for resolution. The uvula lies in a dependent position. The timing will also depend on the degree of swelling. In my practice, i prescribe steroids. If you are having trouble swallowing or breathing, you&#x27;ll obviously need to be seen in an er.  Good luck and i hope this helps.

7-10 days: 7-10 days. Try ibuprofen. Saline rinses.

Try non-steroidals: You can try otc drugs like motrin, but if you have significant discomfort when breathing or eating, see a doctor twho can prescribe something stronger to treat he swelling.

Sinusitis possible: Seems likely to be the result of post-nasal drainage, so there may be the possibility of chronic sinusitis that could respond positively to more water and regularly eating fresh pineapple.  You may also have a dietary allergy like dairy products that often cause increased sinus drainage. If the symptoms persist, however, then I think seeing your primary care provider will be important.

is it normal to have a swelling behind your uvula on the wall of your throat?

Not usually: You do have lymph nodes on the back wall of the throat that could be enlarged, sometimes you can see the outline of spinal vertebrae. It could be other things, as well.  However, you really need to get this checked out with your doctor if it has been there for a whild.
