how can i tell if it's my urethra or vagina that is burning?

Check out your body: Urethra is tiny hole thru which urine comes out. It's situated above your vagina. You should have some idea of which is causing you discomfort. If not, go see your family doc for an evaluation. We can check for infections, etc to determine which is which. Of note, urethra might burn more w/urinary tract infection.

Growth: Unfortunately, without seeing it, it's hard to know what it may be. It may be a benign growth such as hyperplasia or a polyp or a skin tag, but to have peace of mind, you will need to see a doc.

Urethritis: May be bacterial, inflammation  or related to a urinary tract infection I advise a full GYN exam, urine analysis and cultures.

Yeast: Any discharge around the urethra could be a fungal infection.  I would obtain a urine sample and see if there is an infection

: The main cause of such itching is yeast infection. It is not possible for inflammation of the vestibule to block discharge from the vagina; that does not happen. See a doctor if your symptoms continue and/or you remain concerned.
