hi, i am 31 years old male. is it normal to have pain in the tip after urinate in the morning? usually it happens only in the morning. during the day i will take a lot of fluid and it wont happen in the afternoon and at night. is it life threatening?

: What you described is not life threatening. You may wish to consult your doctor to rule out urinary infection, though even that is unlikely. Try drinking more water in the afternoon so that your first morning urine is not too concentrated. Drink enough water daily so that your urine is mostly colorless.

Morning urination: Perhaps the reason that you urinate often in the morning is that you drink a lot fluids from once you wake up. When you urinate, is  your urine light or dark? If it is light, then you are eliminating a dilute urine which is due to a lot of fluid intake. If you had a serious problem, you would urinate all day and have to get out of bed to urinate at night. Urine infection: You need to test the urine for infection by testing it.
Also make sure that the genital area does not have irritating or painful rash or raw skin.

Concentrated: Urine in am is concentrated and may cause urethral irritation. Type and amount of food as well type and amount of liquids in the second part of the previous day may make a difference.

NO Keflex!: Definitely do not self treat this with cephalexin (Keflex) or anything else. It probably is not a UTI anyway. UTIs are rare in men your age; even if it is, this will screw up the diagnosis. If "hard" means slow flow or difficulty starting to void, maybe blockage in urethra or prostate. If discharge and/or pain, an STD is possible. Don't treat, get care ASAP and take it from there. Good luck!

: The penile meatus could be sensitive with a concentrated urine. If that is the case, urine is usually darker in the morning. You can do this test: waking up at 2AM and drink one glass of water. If you do not have pain with the next void, concentrated urine is the culprit. If any structural problem or infection of the genitourinary tract, you will have symptom with voiding throughout the day.
