Hard to say: Could be a dental problem with irritation of nerves in the gingiva or it could be the earliest stage of a herpetic infection which has not erupted yet or other metabolic problems that need to be looked at.  Call your doctor for a date to see them.

Don't worry: If there is no associated swelling, scabbing, bleeding, as long as it is improving there should be nothing to worry about. Occasionally herpes simplex infection can start like this. If this happens then you would need antiherpetic medication.

Injury to lip: If the cut wound stopped bleeding and the cut itself is not deep it should heal on its own. If bleeds and a deep cut an approximation with a suture will facilitate the healing.

Cold sore?: It could be start of a cold sore. You do not need to have oral sex to develop cold sore. Many people are already infected with the cold sores virus and does not show any sores on the lips. It appears suddenly when they are under some sort of stress.

Few causes: If not cold sore virus related then there will be couple causes i can think of such as  sensory nerve or skin damage in the lips and surrounding tissues from burns. Chemicals, food, and sun exposure may cause such burns. Also neuropathy from diabetes can cause burning. See a doctor in person.

Not herpes: To be sure you understand: HSV2 is the virus, not the disease. Genital herpes can be caused by either HSV1 or 2, but HSV2 infrequently infects the mouth -- i.e. most people with genital HSV2 never get cold sores from it. Herpes doesn&#x27;t cause &quot;tingling and burning&quot; without visible sores, and herpes outbreaks never last a whole month. And non-improvement on valacyclovir confirms it&#x27;s not herpes.

Vaginal discomfort: Burning sensation in the vaginal could be a sign of a viral or bacterial infection. Herpes for example causes burning sensation of the vulva or vagina. Being perimenopausal, with hormonal changes can also cause those sensations. Have your obgyn examine you.

Sounds like yeast: These symptoms sound most like a yeast infection. You can try otc treatments like monistat, and if it doesn't improve see your gynecologist.
