No..but: It sound as if you are describing musle spam. This may be resulting from a lower back muscle strain. I would recommend that you perform stretching exercise along with strengthening exercises. Would recommend that you participate in a yoga class or pilates.  If pain persist see your pcp for an evaluation.

Hiatal hernia.: It is possble that you have esophagitis, hiatal hernia and poor digestion. Unlikely could be esophageal pocket or diverticulum.

Not sure but: you need to get checked by a healthcare provider.  Sometimes cold water showers can cause some muscle stiffness and constriction of blood vessels, which will exacerbate an autoimmune condition.  Sometimes hot water showers can cause a heat-induced cramp.  But it is unusual and should be examined by a healthcare professional.

Depends: It depends in part on the length and severity of the pain as well as the underlying cause.  Many simple cases are treated with rest and medications, more involved cases are often treatd with physical therapy or chiropractic. : Hmmm this is a new one.  I cannot think of a way eating spinach would cause back pain.  Raw? Cooked?  With vinegar. Salt.  Keep careful diary and see if it is repeatable vans dose related.

why would i have left-sided mid&upper back pain after an egd & colonoscopy?  hurts more when eating and swallowing. biopsies were taken.

Invasive procedures,: such as EGD and colonoscopy, often cause discomfort afterwards, especially if biopsies are taken.  Taking biopsies requires cutting out a tiny piece of the lining of your stomach and/or colon, it is normal for this to be painful.  If it is painful to swallow, try drinking liquids and/or soft foods in order to allow your body to recover.

First, pain due to a: Cancer tends to be more prevalent at night and is constant, not just when you are awake.  Tests are good but a clinical evaluation done well is the best way to help diagnose a problem followed by indicated testing.  Sounds like it is not cancer based but you should get a diagnosis of what your problem is.

Many causes: Cardiac causes including valvular or coronary heart disease, angina, throracic or addominl aneuryms, thoracic masses intrathoracic or extra thoracic, bulging/herniated thoracic or cervical discs, muscle spasms , clavicle fractures, referred shoulder or neck problems, pulmonary edema, luminary embolus, vertebral fractures or masses, post surgical scar tissues, beast rumors, arthritis  of spine.
