Several things..: The skin around the eyelid is very thin and prone to swelling and fluid retention.   It could be swelling from inflammation (e.g., allergy eye, contact lens overwear), or a salty diet causing an accumulation of fluid while you are asleep.  It could also be due to undereye tissue loosening or thyroid issues, so it would be a good idea to get this checked out by an eye md (ophthalmologist).

? Allergies: Many issues can cause swelling of eyelids and below the eyes.  The most common cause is allergies.  Try artificial tears, cool compresses, and oral/topical antihistamines.  If no improvement, see an eye doctor.

Not normal: Swelling face is not normal or healthy, and should be examined for its cause carefully.  It is good that your md is checking why you are having swelling. A visit to a dentist may reveal serious infection from tooth also. If you have not had an exam w/ x-rays in the last 6 mo, it's also wise to return to your dentist as well. E.G., upper canine/premolar infection often causes under-eye puffiness.

Allergy: Sounds like allergic, most likely contact related since only on one side.  Such as you sleep on your left side and every month you use the same laundry detergent or something of the sort.

Possible infection: I recommend a visit to your doctor.  You symptoms may indicate an infection that needs drainage and/or antibiotics.  Alternatively, it could be a local skin irritation or condition (like psoriasis) which could benefit from medication.

Could be: Your description could very well be "pink eye, " a.K.A. Viral conjunctivitis. It could also be a bacterial infection or even a contact allergy. I would recommend seeing an ophthalmologist to be sure. They each require different treatment.

never ever in my life have i had any kind of allergies.however in my third pregnancy in 2018 i developed spring allergy,terrible swelling and itching of eyes for 2 months every year since then. will it ever go away by itself?

: During the third pregnancy your body was exposed with certain fetus's contents and that event could create a cascade of immunologic reactions. Since then, your body had new antibodies against the antigens that you had not had before the third pregnancy which can explain the spring allergy in the last couple years. Unfortunately, this sensitization is likely permanent.
