aphthous ulcer in throat what medicine?

Warm salt water: If you have been diagnosed with an aphthous ulcer a good home remedy is warm salt water. An aphthous ulcer should go away by itself in 2 weeks.  Avoid spicy foods. Ulcers are bacterial, usually from trauma. If you have acid reflux and get frequent ulcers i would suggest an ENT and a gastroenterologist.

See a doctor: Canker sores are the most common ulcer but they don't bleed unless bitten.  Bleeding is a worrisome sign and should be seen by a physician to ensure it is not malignant.  There is no debate on this.

how can you get rid of mucus in your throat ? 
have had lesion and ulcer in throat almost a year ago havent been back to doctor since but think its gone. still alot mucus  salt water gargle and a nose saline isnt helping any suggestions?

At age 50...: Nose and throat symptoms can be from cold viruses, strep throat, allergies, irritants, etc... Sometimes, it can be difficult to tell what the cause is. For symptoms lasting days, it's more likely allergies, irritation, or infection. Doctors have rapid tests for strep, to help diagnose what the cause most likely is. For a persistent symptom at age 50, a doctor will worry a bit about cancer too.

See a doctor: It is not normal to have an ulcer in your thrat.If you can see it and if it has been there foe a while, then go and see a e.N.T specialist immediately.

No - Use Peridex (chlorhexidine gluconate): Instead of the irritation of mouthwash; get a rx for Peridex (chlorhexidine gluconate) from your dentist.  This is a liquid that you can have soak (now swish) in you mouth to disable bacteria and assist in the healing of irritated and sore tissue.  The nih results was that this solution will soak into the tissue and time release over the next 12 hours.

i am taking ranitidine 300 hcl mg tablets. i am taking it for acid reflux and ulcers in my throat. is it ok to break it in half? i have trouble swallowing pills.

Fine: As long as you get all the medication into your system cutting them in half should not be a problem.

Could be strep: throat or even mono.  If you have difficulty swallowing, or even worse opening your mouth, it could mean abscess.  You should go back to your doctor if you develop these symptoms.

See a dentist: Not able to answer this question without actually visualizing the roof of your mouth. I would recommend seeing a dentist who will be familiar with the anatomy of the mouth as well as it's pathologies.

ulcer in back of throat. not swollen and very little pain. no fever either. i threw up about a week ago so im wondering if the acid caused it? strep?

Ulcer: More likely an ulcer from some viral infection.  Best way to is to have someone take a look at it, especially if persisting and not going away or changing after 10 10 14 days.
