i know that while taking vibramycin (doxycycline) i should avoid sun exposure..but when can i expose freely to sun after stopping the drug i.e.after how long?!

1 week: The half life of vibramycin (doxycycline) is 18 hours so it would be reasonable to be out of your system in 7 days. Good luck but still wear sun block.

: By PDR: Photosensitivity reactions are believed to be due to accumulation of the drug in the skin and are mostly phototoxic in nature, but photoallergic reactions also can occur with select drugs. Reactions can develop from within a few minutes to up to several hours after exposure and will last for 1 to 2 days after discontinuation of the drug.

5 days into doxycycline and epiduo forte for acne and my face burns with any face product as well as my eyelids burning and theyre red. i dont stay out in the sun i have little exposure. is this normal or an allergic reaction?

Yes: As more people use pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) to prevent HIV infection increases, it seems that the rate of some sexually transmitted infections (STIs) also increase. (esp Syphillis). Many Drs are prescribing prophylactic Doxycycline to prevent These STI's. There is no data showing that using both causes any diminished activity in either med or any additional side effects.

Melanoma: There is no specific amount of sun exposure that is considered totally safe.  A single exposure could theoretically cause a melanoma. For any individual, however, there are many factors at play which will make an exposure more or less likely to start changes the result in melanoma.  However, the more sun exposure there is, the higher the probability of developing a melanoma.

See MD immediately: I am not certain what is causing the problem but i recommend you get in to see a dermatologist immediately.  The skin acts as a barrier to prevent organisms or other toxins from entering our bodies.  If you are loosing your skin, you are at risk for more serious problems.  Find out what this is and get it treated.

Irritation?: If your skin is irritated from the sun, moisturize it, but if you have developed a superficial skin inflammation, you need to see your doctor for best advice on topical treatment.
