Myoclonus or tremor: Most likely either a tremor on myoclonus. If it's rare in frequency, then you have nothing to worry about.

can twitching in the limbs during a eeg test for any part of it prove abnormal? i have hemanghihomas on my brain already and take topamax (topiramate).

EEG: The eeg is looking at your brain waves, so it limb movements should not affect it unless they were part of some seizure activity, which is what you were likely having the EEG to look for.

Possibilities: The "twitching" could be relatively benign, and if there is suspicion of seizure activity, an EEG would be indicated.  Discuss this with your pediatrician, as he/she will be better placed to guide you regarding your concerns.  But, in my perspective, epilepsy is far less likely than a benign situation.

Blood tests: Blood tests for electrolytes and certain vitamin levels would be helpful.   A neurological evaluation may also be in order.  Stress can be a factor.  are you on any medication?  These are all possibilities .

16 yr son woke up with tingling/numbness on left side of face and left eye twitching. had trouble breathing and passed out. heard gargling noise and found on floor. doesn't remember anything. have had mir/ct/eeg/ekg/video sleep and blood work all ok?

See Neurologist: Sounds like your son had a seizure.  It also sounds like he had a lot of tests, some not done in emergency room (EEG, sleep study).  The doctor who tested him or a neurologist in your area should discuss the findings and help you decide what is wrong and what to do.  Sometimes tests reported "normal" can tell us things.  To find a neurologist, call your local hospital or medical society.

which test is better for finding out what muscle twitches are caused by, an eeg or an emg? are both really expensive with insurance?

EMG: EEGs are usually for the brain to detect seizures. EMG is used for muscles. I don't know the costs but your doctor can help you and the hospital can give ideas based on your lack of insurance. There are many government programs that can assist you. Good luck.

90% normal: Spikes and sharp waves are abnormal. Most other waves are pretty normal. The facial "twitch" could potentially be interpreted as abnormal based on the clinical scenario.

Shaking spells: There are many causes . one of the most common is a blood pressure reaction cause vaso vagal reflex. This should definitely be worked up by a doctor who can explain the most likely cause / s .  to hazard a guess without more information would be irresponsible.

EEG: To begin, the technician will paste wires with metal cups, to your skull, using an electrolyte paste.  The wires serve as antennas, picking up the electrical activity of your brain cells.  You will then be asked to lie down on a table.  Once the machine is on, it does all the work.  You may have light flashed at your eyes and you may be asked to try and go to sleep.  You will not feel anything.
