We need REM sleep: (rapid eye movement - dream sleep) to blow off psychological stress.  W/out it we become anxious and short-tempered, even hallucinate if deprived long enough.  See your doc or a mental health professional to address your sleep deprivation.  Peace and good health.

Potassium!: Have your doctor check your blood potassium level. It could be low due to flare, causing these symptoms.

Eye twitching: I would recommend finding a Transcendental Meditation Class for training to reduce stress. And work on TM. Let us know if it helps.

Anxiety help: Without any weakness over that time frame, the Neuro is right - ALS is not likely. But you do feel worried and a good Health Psychologist might help you as you investigate. They can evaluate the emotional part and refer you to physicians w/ their impressions of the physical part. That's a bit like having an attorney. If the Dr didn't mention MS. I don't want to worry you, but that's worth a nod.

Yes: Anxiety whether transient or as a chronic disorder is a successful mimic of a multitude of physiologic reactions; muscle twitching is just one of the many.

It could result like many other conditions like diabetes, asthma et.C  from our genetic make up or be caused by many other medical and syvstsnce use disorders. Who nose: Pardon the pun, but who nose?  I've known several people with this symptom, as well as eye, chin, & finger twitching.  Obviously it's a neurological event but w/out serious undercurrents or consequences.  Some report that taking potassium helps, but the best thing is to relax & drop the concerns.  Focusing on it can aggrivate it. In time  it will pass.

Possible: As your symptoms move to different areas and are not consistent, anxiety is definitely a possibility, but other systemic disorders can cause this.  See a doctor and have your b12, thyroid, electrolytes and even a lyme test.  Do not assume anxiety and ignore these, see a doctor to discuss and delineate your symptoms.
