They're mostly gone: These are synthetic fatty acids popularized long ago in shortenings. Retrospective studies link them inconsistently to coronary artery disease, but folks who've eaten a lot of crisco probably have other bad heart-health habits as well. Despite much "theory", animal work supporting the dangers is in my opinion very weak. Politicians have removed them from most foods. I don't miss them at all.

Depends: Some site 6 months as an average length of trying before achieving a pregnancy. Most would  not consider a full evaluation needed for you & your partner until 1-2yrs have passed. Try to simplify life & remove stressful pursuits that might put your system off a bit & followup with your doc if the problem persists.

Usually none: Both a husband and a wife should each see his and her primary care doctors for complete check-ups, including vaccine updates. A woman needs an adult medicine doctor, not just an ob-gyn, to do check-ups. The primary care doctors can suggest some testing if the couple is at high risk for inherited diseases, such as sickle cell anemia, thalassemia, cystic fibrosis, hemophilia, etc...

A urologist: Start with having your husband checked by a urologist.  The exam is relatively simple and straightforward.  If no problem is found then you should consult your gynecologist.  Alternatively a reproductive endocrinologist might handle everything but your insurance might not immediately cover this.
