i take lamotrigine for seizures. lately i havent been feeling well so we checked medication levels. im at 1.1 ug/ml. could that be why im getting breakthrough seizures, is that low?

: Contact your neurologist ASAP, as your dosage is clearly sub-therapeutic and should be titrated upwards. Would anticipate far better control once this is addressed.  In the meantime, do not drive, do activities at heights, use power equipment, bathe or swim alone.

: The usual therapeutic range runs from 2.5-15 mcg/ml, and yours is clearly subtherapeutic.  The goal is to become as seizure-free as possible and not experience episodic seizures.  The discussion should be focused on control and medication that is well tolerated and easy compliance.

Level: lamotrigine levels are not really used for psychiatric treatment. might be relevant for sz treatment but not so much for psych issues.

Not alot: Thyroid interaction is not common with Lamictal, however as with all medications for each individual that can be a possibility. As to your low TSH that is usually a resonse to elevated T3, (liothyronine) T4.  Remember that there can be variations in your thyroid measurements from one time to another. How do you feel.  Do you have thyoid symptoms: cold, tired, fatigued, skin or nail changes?
