Not for optometrists: A person who might need glasses or contact lenses for nearsightedness (myopia), farsightedness, astigmatism, or presbyopia (needs reading glasses), but otherwise has no eye symptoms, can see an optometrist (a non-medical doctor). Healthtap in 2011 has only medical doctors as experts, so has ophthalmologists (medical eye doctors who do eye surgery, treat eye diseases, prescribe medications, etc...).

If you don't know: of specific nutrients that are low in your situation you can start w/a GOOD multivitamin.  You need about half of the USA Recommended Daily Allowances on the label to be several 100% higher than the RDA listed next to the ingredient.  That's more important than having more ingredients in the vitamin tablet, i.e., 20 ingredients is not necessarily better than 15.  Higher amount is better.  Peace.

Leg work: You really have to check yourself by talking to people.  Don't take one or two peoples advice for something that important.  You can also go onto the state board's website and check the doctors history for legal issues.  This may not tell you good doctors but if i see a pattern of lawsuits i would have second thoughts.

Bowel movement: Bowel sounds normal mild constipation likely consider fiber laxative or milk of magnesia (magnesium hydroxide).

my gf's new tongue piercing started to bleed profusely. do you know what causes this? she had alto of blood clots also in it.

Accepted Answer

Remove the piercing: The bleeding was caused by too much use prior to the piercing becoming fully healed. Remove the piercing and allow the hole to close if the bleeding continues or if she is willing to lose the piercing. If she would like to keep the piercing, apply pressure, swish and spit with salt water and try not to use the tounge. Drink fluids and do not eat rough foods.
