Years, easily missed: Trichomonas can be carried for years without symptoms, especially in women and maybe sometimes in men. The wet mount misses half of all trich infections. There is no way to know when you were infected or whether it has anything to do with your husband&#x27;s partner(s) in 2004. With your apparent concern he might have had other partners since then, to be safe you both should be tested for other STDs.

Trichomonas yes:  Trichomonas vaginalis does not always have to be symptomatic but are usually his symptoms such as vaginal itching and pain with urination and also there may be a vaginal discharge

Trichomonas: This is a sexually transmitted disease, and it is possible that you have more than just trichomonas.  It can increase the risk of getting or spreading other stds. For example, trichomoniasis can cause genital inflammation that makes it easier to get infected with the HIV virus, or to pass the HIV virus on to a sex partner. Go back, see a doctor, get tested. It would be unusual to have oral infect.

Trichomonas: To diagnose Trichomoniasis, urine sediment, vaginal swab, semen, urethral swab can be used for a wet mount reading, culture, rapid assay or PCR test. Trichomonas Vaginalis is the protozoan parasite that causes this infection. When a wet mount is used, one searches for motile trichomonads using a microscope.

Flagyl or: Metronidazole could be used for either condition.

today i had a vaginal culture they tested me for bacterial, yeast, tric it was negative but they found more white blood sells what does that mean?

Follow up: Gynecological infections may often present with leukocytes (wbc's). It is not uncommon for the gram stain and or culture to yield negative results .  Please follow up. May still need treatment.

Trichomonas: Flagyl at 500 mg for 7 days may be adequate treatment for trichomonas,  but if the odor or itching continues, see your gyn again for a heavier dose of Flagyl .

Vaginitis: These could be lymph nodes that are enlarged from the vaginal infection you have.  Did you show these to your doctor and ask what they are?   Since you are now being seen every week for your pregnancy ask the next time you are seen.

Bacterial vaginosis: Ask to be tested for bacterial vaginosis. It's common and causes these symptoms.

Diagnostic Method?: STI in a child raises social issues so  diagnostic method must be infallible. Trichomonas is a sexually transmitted infection. In a child of age ten evaluation prior to treatment should be done in consultation with child sexual abuse team. NAAT and culture are the best methods of diagnosis. Clinical impression; over 20% false positive; not an option for use in for Pediatric medicine
