It is usually without symptoms and is often found in normal bladders, though chronic infections, bladder exstrophy, neurogenic bladder, or prior surgery can cause its formation. Treatment should be at correcting the underlying cause.

See below. : Cystitis cystica is a benign lesion of bladder that occurs as a reaction to a chronic inflammatory process: most commonly recurrent UTIs. Not a pre-malignant condition and does not require TURBT or fulguration if that is truly the diagnosis. Rx usually involves prevention of UTIs with daily, long-term, low-dose antibiotic and periodic office cystoscopy to monitor response. Consider 2nd opinion??

No: It's really not inflammation -- "cystitis" is a misnomer" -- and throwing cortisone at it would be overkill even if it were. Leave it alone, or if it's possible to treat the underlying cause of the hydronephrosis. Wishing you the best.

Cystitis cystica: Cystitis cystica is a benign (noncancerous) change that is thought to be a reaction to irritation and not a specific disease of its own. Sometimes it forms a small bump or a polyp-like area. Therefore a urologist might biopsy it to make sure it is not cancer. There is no evidence that it becomes cancerous over time. So it may not need to be cured unless there are other bladder problems.

Diffuse?: This is a common benign incidental change in the bladder mucosa. A patch or two of cystitis glandularis is no reason to be concerned. When it is widespread ("diffuse"), it generally means that there's underlying disease in the urinary tract / ureters. You indicate you have hydronephrosis. It is a marker for the need for cancer vigilance ; perhaps contains mutations that keep it going.

Latter associated with adenoca bladder but unclear whether cccg is truly a precursor of adenoca.  Bulk of the evidence does not support a pathogenesis relationship between the former and the latter. Rx: eradicate inflammation.

Yes: Yes,  return to the Urologist. There may be additional cause for your cystitis that needs to be evaluated.

on macrobid 100mg bid x 30 days for chronic cystitis cystica.  just completed nystatin cream x 10 days.  into my 12th day now if macrobid.  can i stop and restart next week as family wedding soon.?

Stop start: You can stop but you run the risk of having symptoms while your not taking medication. Otherwise if you decide to stop medication get back on them as soon as you can and finish treatment.

There are many: Pain from interstitial cystitis can improve with a lot of treatments. Hydrodistension and bladder instillations can help. Medications like Elmiron (pentosan) and antihistamines may work. Medications for neuropathic pain like Amitriptyline and Gabapentin are often effective. While not fda approved for pain, sacralneuromodulation (interstim) works well for some people. Discuss options with your doctor.
