However, sometimes when a person's sugars are really high, it is easy to assume that it is beyond the ability of the oral meds, and we will go straight to insulin.

Hemochromatosis: The goal of treatment for hemachromatosis is to prevent iron build up in your tissues and organs.  Initial treatment, usually by blood donation,  will be to try to get rid of the already increased iron stores in your system. Once that is depleted, then future treatment will be to try to prevent recurrent future build up. It is important to continue this for your entire lifetime. Good luck.

CAD are usually managed by controlling risk factors with or without surgical intervention like PTCA and CABG.Valvular disease are surgically managed or observation or meds, congestive disease are managed with medications and supportive care. Arrthymias are managed with cardioversion,meds and sometimes AICD. Please specify type of heart disease

No cure: The changes you describe are typical ct changes of most people over age 60 with dm and htn. There's nothing that will reverse those changes. To slow progression which is as inexorable as aging, keep the BP and cholesterol under meticulous control.  Control of dm is important for other reasons but may not slow the vasular changes. Of course, no smoking. Good diet and regular exercise also help.

Do your homework!: Treatments & medications for glaucoma are getting better all the time; plus earlier detection makes a big difference. Make sure not to rub your eyes!  worry does no good; just get educated on your condition & about the options available.

Support and work training may be helpful for work skills, money management, and maintaining independence.

Wilson's Disease: The problem is a build up of copper in the body, especially in the liver.  Your doctor will prescribe a chelating agent that binds and gets rid of the copper, such as trientine.  Once the levels are down, you will likely be given another medication to keep the copper levels low, such as zinc acetate.
