Likely OK: It is not uncommon to have a lingering cough after an upper respiratory infection that can last up to a month. As long as the mucus is mot often clear and your not feeling feverish or with chills or significant chest pain, there's little to worry about.

Allergies..: When you experience nasal allergies the mucus is collected in the upper respiratory tract and drains from your nose to the back of your throat sort to say. That is the clear mucus you are noticing.

: You have a productive cough. Observation or treatment will depend on the medical history or associated symptoms. If you have no underlying pulmonary disease, treatment is not indicated unless you have other associated sx such as high fever, shortness of breath or chest pain. Viral bronchitis is very common, no treatment needed. However, if cough persists more than 3 weeks, work-up is indicated.

BUT worth having evaluation.
Smoker?
Environmental issues? Animals, asbestos, dust mold etc.
If prior pneumonia or lung issues, then bronchiectasis is possible.
There are also some lung inflammations that cause more sputum

so a couple hours after eating i cough and spit and see hard white chunks very tiny doesn't separate kind of looks lik a booger and also i got tonsils taken out years ago but i've also coughed chunks of clear white jelly mucas do u know what it is?

: If you cough up chunks of foods, I'd be concerned about the presence of a diverticulum ( pouch) in your throat. You could be dealing with laryngopharyngeal reflux or postnasal discharges.  I recommend consulting an ENT specialist for evaluation &amp; advice. Any appropriate testing will be ordered.
