Exam/imaging: You may have small micro tears in the hamstring muscle due to previous severe muscle pull or injury. Certainly get examined, use a hamstring support and over the counter antiinflammatory meds, If this continues, you may benefit form an orthopedic evalaution and possible imaging.

what is the definition of full thickness tear to the acl mean? surgery or no surgery? im about to be a senior in high school and i play volleyball and run track. if not surgery what's the best thing to do?

Acl tear: best option is surgery especially if u are an athlete. Older non athletic people sometimes treat with bracing. I don't recommend this for you. Good luck

Not likely to help: There is nothing magic about workout diet supplements, vitamins, etc. There are no shortcuts to athletic performance. Eat a normal diet to maintain weight (perhaps with increased carbs before events and practice), follow your coach&#x27;s workout recommendations, and practice, practice, practice. Don&#x27;t waste money on stuff like this.

The simplest route..: Doctors want to work with nurses who are well-trained (being well-trained is more important than how or where the training occurred).  We want nurses to know what looks right and what looks wrong, when nurses look at a patient. Another trait we want in nurses attention to little details (details are important in medicine). The training should via the least expensive, simplest route.

Healthy diet: What you eat is the most important component of weight loss. There is no easy way to lose weight only dedication and discipline. Avoid simple sugars, sugary drinks, and eating closer than 2 hours before bed time. Eat 5 or six small meals throughout the day instead of one or two big ones. More of your calories should be consumed in the morning instead of the evening.

Complete recovery: Return to play for a high school athlete should not be considered til all symptoms have resolved. It is important that the athlete have no symptoms during exercise as well. As the athlete heals, they will have no symptoms at rest but exertion can cause mild symptoms. If they are at this point, they should refrain from competing. If you have access to baseline neuro testing, a repeat test may help.

Difficult ?: There is no formal screening of athletes in the us. Coutries like italy have a mandatory screening for all athletes consisting of an ekg followed by further testing as needed. 
See your family doctor especially if there is a family history . A referral can be made to cardiology if there is a high suspicion.

Sometimes: When a girl going through puberty begins having periods is often related to how much body fat she has. A very low percent body fat, or a very high level of intense physical activity, may delay the first period. You may also have other health problems if your first period is delayed too long. If no period by age 13 or 14, it would be wise to see a gynecologist.

5'2, 19 & 141 lbs but i run & workout a lot. i feel healthy &look fit, but in high school my doc said i had to stay at 125, do i need to lose weight?

Healthy body image: Well it mostly depends on you. If you're exercising and eating right, then most likely you are 'healthy'. Your weight depends partly on genetics - i.e. your body frame, muscle mass etc. A doctor's chart might say '125' but I think it's more than just that. If you are happy with your self image, then that is critical - because you'll have self-confidence and a positive self image. That is health!
