hi there, i experience visual trailing/palinopsia and mild pain in my eyes. i was prescribed topiramate for weight loss and as a supplementary mood stabiliser, but was told that there are many side effects that come from using it. is this normal?

Topamax (topiramate): I recommend that you see your eye md asap. Some people on topamax (topiramate) can have acute glaucoma as a result of the medication causes ciliary body swelling, which in turn causes the angles of the eye to close off raising the intraocular pressure.

As floaters are usually not harmful, and time usually results in dissipation and less annoyance, they are mostly left alone. Vitreous surgery can cause distortion and discomfort.
