Carpal tunnel?: You may possibly having carpal tunnel which is quite common in folks using their hands repetitively such as typing etc...Over-use arthritis can also be causing symptoms..I would recommend seeing your doc for an evaluation to determine a best solution for your.
Try some motrin/aleve, vitamin b6, and wrist splint in the meantime..Good luck.

Need to examine: It is not feasible to provide a meaningful opinion without examining the hand. Was there any trauma to the hand? Is there a swelling, redness or other visible abnormality? If there is no visible abnormality try tylenol (acetaminophen) and if the pain does not go away in a couple of days or gets worse, see your doctor.

Tricky: without an exam, I can only give general information. There are a lot of possible reasons like an internal fracture, snapped tendons, bruises, etc.
A reason for follow up fairly soon.

A common type of: Tendinitis that affects this area is dequervains which typically resolves with anti inflamm stories and or a soft splint that includes the the thumb and wrist , at times a corticosteroid injection and rarely surgery. Starting out with simpler treatment and avoiding extremes of motion is the first step .A hand surgeon can help.

i've taken three dosages of bactrum ds can i still end up having serum sickness? my left hand hurts right on the top. for no apparent reason. that's why i was wondering

Not necessarily: The symptom you have is irrelevant, serum sickness is  still a rare disease, the most common drug causing it, is penicillin still, it can take days up to 3 weeks to develop, earlier if you had it before with the same drug. If in doubt, call your doctor, stop the drug if any suspicion of a likely symptom of a reaction/ allergy, good luck

possible cts ? i always use a keyboard and mouse for gaming. sometimes my wrist and or hand hurts. and i go put my hand under hot water . that helps and i dont get anymore pains. my hand lately has been twitching or feels like small shocks. why?

Probably : I think you are right. I would recommend in looking at your ergonomics. Different pad or position of arms. Consider a stand to raise the computer as that can improve the condition. Its good for the rest of your body too!

Tendonitis: It could be a tendonitis.  Advil  3 to 4 tabs a day shoud help.

my patient had an accident where she defecated and i cleaned her. i cut my thumb while cooking that morning before the clean up. i tried to be careful not to touch poop but i cant be sure. my hand hurts now, ive cleaned it. am i going to get sick?

: Monitor the wound. If you notice worsening pain, redness. Swelling, or discharge, then get seen in person by a physician.
