Pain medicine: You can try pain killers. I would try a combination of pain relievers like panado, anti-inflammatory and maybe codeine as well like myprodol or similar.

Eventually: Expect to eventually wind up in the hospital with an even more serious problem. Infections such as these can spread to other parts of the body and even be fatal. You will have to overcome your fears and find some way to either pay for treatment or find some government agency, dental facility or charitable organization to help defray the costs. Do you not have any family or friend that can help?

Abscess: Sounds like abscessed tooth with spreading infection.  Get help immediately before infection spreads any farther.  Call Dentist, Endodontist, oral Surgeon, or go to ER with Dental Department.  The longer you wait, the harder to treat.

If: If the root canals were done by an Endodontists, a root canal specialist, rather than by a General Dentist, then I would say extraction and replacement should be considered.  If root canal Rx was done by a GeneralDentist, see an Endodontists for an opinion before extracting and replacing.

See Oral Surgeon : Anything hard other than a boney outgrowth of the jaw is something to be considered seriously. I'd recommend seeing an oral surgeon or ENT as soon as possible.

Swelling: Swelling will not go down immediately, it takes 24 to 48 hours for the antibiotics to start making a difference. In the meantime you should be contacting a local dentist for an appointment... the antibiotics alone will not solve your problem.
