what is the best medication to loose weight when excerice,healthy diet(rarely have fast good or unhealthy),thyroid is normal.the weight gain can be 2 pounds per day and i need help?

Losing weight: I can’t personally make recommendations for weight loss products but the following are FDA approved: Alli, Xenical (orlistat),Meridia (sibutramine), Adipex-P (phentermine &amp; Sanorex (mazindol).  Your doctor can determine if medication is appropriate &amp; work with selection.

question on my diabetes medication. i cannot take glucophage, it hurts my upper abdomen too much. so my doctor did put me on galvus with my diaglucide, which i take before breakfast. but i am afraid if galvus does cause weight gain or not?

Weight: Galvus has not been associated with weight gain as major side effect

i have been diagnosed with endometriosis and my doctor prescribed visanne but the side effects are beyond me, headache,weight gain,abdominal pain,mood swings,the list is endless.
is there any other medication or contraceptives recommended?

i have high blood pressure after taking medication for 2 weeks my ankles & feet began to swell & other parts of body mainly around stomach abdomen this has caused weight gain. also arms fingers. been 6 weeks now should i be taking fluid tablets?

: There are hundreds of BP meds.  Without knowing can’t help much. If a CCB this may be normal in some, if an ACE you may have a kidney problem. Report to your Dr.  I assume you failed a trial of the DASH DIET which is recommended for all with HBP and lowers BP BETTER THAN SINGLE DRUGS.  But it does not seem to be recommended much down under. Go to Nih.gov and read more.

i have chrons also on lansaprozol. is this due to sudden weight gain, a very distended hard abdomen? is this a side effect from the drug? try nexium (esomeprazole)?

With Crohn's: A very distended hard abdomen is more concerning for a developing intestinal obstruction. These signs are not side effects of lansoprazole.

i have a cyst on my left thyroid, would this cause weight gain or make it hard to lose weight?

Accepted Answer

Not usually: It should not cause weight gain unless it affect your thyroid function. The only way to know is the get a blood test for thyroid function.  Often, a cyst or nodule will have no effect on how the thyroid is functioning thus should not play a role in your weight.

Die diet diet: rapid weight gain is most of the time attributed to high grain/carb intake. limit to no more than 50 grams per day while increasing good fat and protein intake to avoid hunger issues and allow long term adherence. go paleo !

Yes if large amounts: A diet high in sugars and starches is probably the greatest contributor to obesity. The book wheat belly makes the case that wheat is a major factor.
