Related?  Maybe not.: This could be related to the past chickenpox infex, but maybe not.  When you're fighting off one thing, it's easier to pick up another illness.  Be sure to see a doctor.  At the very least, i'd do a test for strep throat if i saw a patient with these complaints.  Take care of yourself, and be sure not to overdo it .   Eat well and good caffeine-free fluid intake!   get enough sleep!

&gt; 1 possibilities: If the ambient temp is cool, the body decreases circulation to the hands and feet to conserve warmth.   The same happens if a person is slightly dehydrated, esp with illness and fever, so pushing giving fluids may help. Likely the child has a condition called dyshydrosis where the feet tend to sweat and the evaporation cools the skin.  Often there is no known cause.  No worry if child acts well.

Hard to know: Infants &amp; toddlers have a great capacity to shunt surface blood flow deeper to avoid heat loss. This may be seen as feet cooler than their trunk. It would be more likely in a cold environment. Whether or not this explains this or not would require a direct exam &amp; review of the child's other vital signs/findings.
