how di i get my toddler to eat fruit?

Repetition! : A great way to broaden your child's palate is by offering a variety of fruits and vegetables with each meal.  Don't say anything!  show your child by eating the foods yourself!  toddlers will over time follow your good example. Remember it may take 10 to 15 tries. Another tip is to make a " nibble tray" with small pieces of fruits and veggies and make available between meals.  Don't give up!

my 12-yr-old daughter still eats like a toddler- pasta, fruit...relatively healthy, but very limited. it is impacting her social life. what can we do?

Eating Issue: Talk to her, she's 6th/7th grader, not in kg/1st grade. Needs to eat 6 times/day: 3 major meals, moderate amount (breakfast, lunch, dinner), 3 snacks in between. Items: vegetable, fruit, salad, meat, fish, egg, milk. Will drink lot of water between. Half of plate will be vetetable/fruit/salad, 1/4th protein (meat/fish/egg), 1/4th. Carbohydrate(bread/rice/pasta). Visit her ped if think eating disorder.

i spotted a fruit fly or a small flying insect in my kitchen and all i can think about is if some gotten into the food that i just ate. i don't think i seen anything in my food but maybe it got mixed in somehow. should i be concerned?

No: Let go of the insect or fly. It may be only one of your daily variants of anxiety. Talk to your doc about your intrusive thoughts and worries.

Yes: Yes, " toddler's diarrhea " is very common.  Caused by a diet high in sugar/juice/fluid and low in fat.

Probably ok: It has not been shown that sucralose is harmful for children or toddlers.  But I would try to limit.

Sure : Sure you could! Kwashiorkor is a disease of poor countries, we just don't have is among kids here in the US.  BUT theoretically if you ate only fruit indefinitely, you would get it eventually.

No: This is the best kind of sugar that you can get. Eating fruits every day is a good habit.

i ate about a big beet and 2 hours later the toilet was red? i have only really been eating veg and fruit? it seemed to pass quickly? normal?

Probably Normal: If it was a one time event to have the red color in the toilet, and it was soon after eating the beet, it could certainly be from the natural coloring in the beet.  It is worth mentioning at your next regular check up but for a single time, it is unlikely to be anything but the coloring from the beet. Also, bright red is generally a sign of hemorrhoids that a more serious problem.

Untrue: This is an urban legend. There is no contraindication to ingesting passion fruit or the seeds during pregnancy. In fact, during your pregnancy is when it is most important to be eating fruits and vegetables.

Can you swallow?: If you can swallow and drink liquids then you should be ok.  Just keep drinking a lot of liquids.  If the fruit got stuck then slid down, it could have bruised your esophagus, giving you the feeling it's still stuck.  If you cannot swallow liquids then you need to go to the emergency room to get the blockage removed.
